Sore Loser: DEA Head Miffed About Softball Game

An MPP petition posted at change.org is calling on Pres. Obama to oust Bush holdover, Michele Leonhart.

As part of her recent broadside directed at Pres. Obama, the DEA's Michele Leonhart not only took issue with the President's comparison of marijuana and alcohol, but also with the White House playing softball against drug-law reformers.

"She was particularly frustrated with the fact that, according to her, the White House participated in a softball game with a pro-legalization group," says Bristol Country Sheriff Thomas Hodgson, who was at the meeting of national sheriffs in Washington.

The White House team (STOTUS) faced-off against the One Hitters on June 19 and lost 5-2. Both teams play in the Congressional Softball League.

One Hitters co-captain Stacia Cosia, who is Interim Executive Director of SSDP, tells CelebStoner: "I'm just tickled that our softball team is upsetting the head of the DEA. And good on the White House team for agreeing to play us two years in a row. It is, after all, just a recreational softball league."

The One Hitters finished the 2013 season in fifth place with a 13-3 record.

DEA Administrator Leonhart is skating on thin ice after informing the assembled sheriffs how disappointed she was with Obama for saying, "I don't think (marijuana) is more dangerous than alcohol."

“She said she felt the administration didn’t understand the science enough to make those statements," Hodgson adds. "But she said her lowest point in 33 years in the DEA was when she learned they’d flown a hemp flag over the Capitol on July 4."

A change.org petition by the MPP is calling on the President to "Fire Michele Leonhart," who is a holdover from the Bush administration. This is long overdue.
