#DWTS420: Tommy Chong Dances With the Stars, Week 9

Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd are all smiles, because they’re going to the quarterfinals on "DWTS."

Tommy Chong returned to Dancing With the Stars for the quarterfinals on Nov. 10, performing with Peta Murgatroyd. They earned 57 points for two different dances, and moved on to the semifinals and Week 10.

For Week 9, the audience selected the couples' first dances. Chong wore a dapper grey suit and Murgatroyd a white gown for their waltz, which received a 29-point score. For the second dance, Sharna Burgess joined Murgatroyd as flight attendants on Chong Airways. "Thank you for riding high," it began. Judge Bruno Tonioli joked that Chong "invented the Mile High Club." The trio received a 28-point score. Since Chong and Murgatroyd were declared "safe" at the start of the show, their low scores didn't put them in jeopardy.

At the end, the axe fell on Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev. At 76, Chong is the oldest celebrity to get this far on "DWTS."

Here's the Week 9 tally (last week in parens):

1. Janel Parrish 38/39 (40)
2. Alfonso Ribeiro 37/40 (38)
3. Bethany Mota 36/38 (37)
