Top 6 Hot Pot Moments at the VMAs

MTV's come a long way. Twenty years ago, the Music Television channel blurred images of pot leaves and edited pro-marijuana lyrics out of songs. This year's Video Music Awards on Aug. 30 was a veritable lovefest for weed, thanks to host Miley Cyrus, Kanye West and Snoop Dogg.

Here are the Top 6 Hot Pot Moments at the VMAs:

1. During his acceptance speech for the Video Vanguard award (cue to 9:55 below), West stated:

"Y'all might be thinking, 'I wonder. Did he smoke something before he came out here?' The answer is, 'Yes, I rolled up a little something. I knocked the edge off.'"

2. Cyrus lit up a joint during the post-show press conference and passed it to a reporter.

3. In a skit with Snoop, Cyrus munched on a "Mary Jane brownie," which Snoop said was made with OG (for Old Granny).

4 and 5. Dressed in a rainbow flag, Cyrus held an unlit joint in her hand. She also instructed a group of people to say "Marijuana!" in a selfie pose during the show.

6. Cyrus' closing number, "Dooo It!" - a song from her weird new album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz - began with the repeat verse:

"Yeah, I smoke pot/ Yeah, I love beats/ But I don't give a fuck/ I ain't no hippie…"
