New-age guru Dr. Andrew Weil favors the medicinal use of marijuana and even thinks it can cure cancer, but he's down on nutmeg - at least when it's used for psychotropic purposes. "You can get high on nutmeg," Weil says, "but I doubt that you would enjoy it very much."

File this under "New Drug to Vilify." For the last few years, it's been salvia. Now authorities are taking aim at a "fake marijuana" product being sold at head shops, mostly in the Midwest, called K2 and Spice. Kansas and Missouri legislators are spearheading the drive to ban the mystery substance.

British researcher Prof. David Nutt, who was sacked last week from the Council on the Misuse of Drugs by the Home Office because of his paper, "Estimating Drug Harms," rates marijuana the 11th most harmful drug, behind heroin, cocaine, alcohol and tobacco.
