Nine States Vote on Adult-Use Legalization or Medical Marijuana

Update: On Nov. 8, California, Maine, Massachusetts and Nevada passed adult use and Arkansas, Florida, Montana and North Dakota passed medical marijuana  Arizona voters fialed to pass adult use.

California's Adult Use of Marijuana Act (Prop 64) was one of five recreational pot measures on the Nov. 8 ballot. The other four states with initiaitves were ArizonaMaineMassachusetts and Nevada.

They were hoping to join Colorado, Washington State, Oregon and Alaska as adult-use marijuana states. The largest state in the U.S. and the world's sixth-largest economy, California voting to tax and regulate cannabis could set the wheels turning for many other states to do the same.

In addition, medical marijuana measures qualified for the Novemeber ballot in Arkansas, Florida, Montana and North Dakota

In June, Ohio became the 26th state to legalize MMJ when Gov. Kasich signed legislation sent to him.
