In Hawaii, the customary thing to do is to load up some Maui Wowie or Kona Gold into one of Celebration Pipes' lavastone creations. The pipes have been lovingly handmade by DaPiper since 1973. They come in six varieties - with bowls made of gold, platinum, and local gemstones such as opal and Hanalei Blue. The lavastone cools down the heat, while connecting you to Hawaii's exotic culture.

The coolest food franchise in America is undoubtedly Cheba Hut - home of the "toasted" sub. Where else can you buy a Nug (4 inches), Pinner (6 inches) or Blunt (foot long) and ask for either the Chronic, Kush or AK-47? On Saturday, Jan. 19, Cheba Hut celebrated its 10th anniversary by offering the $4.20 special - a Nug, bag of chips and drink. Based in Arizona and Colorado, Cheba Hut's seventh shore - in Glendale, AZ - opens on Jan. 26, just in time for Super Bowl weekend.

Where can you order subs dubbed "Kush," "AK-47," "Afghani," "Chronic" and "The Kind"? No, the answer's not Amsterdam. It's the seven Cheba Hut stores in Colorado and Arizona. In 1998, Scott Jennings founded the company - "where the only thing fried is the occasional customer." Three more stores are opening soon in Arizona, with Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Oregon to follow.
