'Boyhood' Stands Tall at the Golden Globes

Richard Linklater's Boyhood took Best Picture (Drama) at the Golden Globes on Jan. 11. He was also named Best Director. Michael Keaton won for Best Actor in a Comedy for Birdman.

We made the following predictions priro to the show, which was hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the third year in a row. Our friends at sportsbettingdime.com laid the odds.

Best Motion Picture, Drama

It looks like Richard Linklater's year. The director of Dazed and Confused has all the critics on his side for Boyhood (3/1), his movie about a Texas family shot over a 12-year period. BOYHOOD WINS

Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical

The B's have it this year: Boyhood and Birdman (2/1), which features Michael Keaton and Emma Stone sharing a joint. THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL WINS

Best Director

Longhsot Linklater (7/1) will take this category too for Boyhood. RICHARD LINKLATER WINS

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy

This is a great category chock full of stony performances. For our money, Joaquin Phoenix (6/1) would win simply for the number of joints he smokes in Inherent Vice, but Michael Keaton (2/1) will be hard to beat. And let's not forget Bill Murray's (3/1) grouchy turn in St. Vincent. MICHAEL KEATON WINS

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama

Reese Witherspoon (2/1) plays a recovering junkie in Wild, but the prize will go to long-shot Julianne Moore (8/1) for her performance as an Alzheimer's sufferer in Still Alice. JULIANNE MOORE WINS

Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture

Emma Stone (7/1) lights up the screen, literally, in Birdman. She's had a terrific year, also appearing in Woody Allen's Magic in the Moonlight and Cabaret on Broadway. PATRICIA ARQUETTE WINS

Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy

Though we're partial to Mike Judge's Silicon Valley (9/1), Jenji Kohan's prison saga, Orange Is the New Black (3/1) has the buzz. THE AFFAIR WINS

Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy

Veep lead Julia Louis-Dreyfus (2/1) is the favorite, but Girls creator Lena Dunham (3/1) and Orange's Taylor Schilling (5/1) might make her nervous. GINA RODRIGUEZ WINS

Best Actor in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy

We're rooting for Louis C.K. (2/1), who stars in his downbeat comedy, Louie. JEFFREY TAMBOR WINS
