 Braylon Edwards' arrest on Sept. 21 placed the New York Jets right in the middle of a DWI storm. Many fans and members of the media called for Edwards to be suspended for at least one game. The Jets chose to ban him for the first quarter against Miami on Sunday night. Edwards went on to score a pivotal touchdown in the Jets' 31-23 victory.

 Former wrestling champion Sean Waltman was arrested for possessing a joint at Newark Airport on Sept. 12. Walter, whose ring name is X-Pac, says he was robbed the night before and didn't have ID, which led to the search.

 Tim Lincecum's five-game August losing streak had Giant fans reaching for their bongs and wishing the Cy Young award-winning hurler could do the same. Then, Lincecum, who was arrested for marijuana possession last October, went out and beat the Rockies 2-1.

 Arrested for felony marijuana possession on Aug. 15, Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem claimed the weed wasn't his. The charge was dismissed on Sept. 17 with police admitting that the finger prints on several prescription bottles containing cannabis matched those of passenger Antwain Fleming.

 With his twin victories at the U.S. Championships, Michael Phelps now holds the record for individual titles with 49. His 200-freestyle was the fastest finish of the year, but Phelps called his butterfly "the worst 200 fly I've ever swam" - even though he won the race.
