One of Heath Ledger's best roles was the surf/skate shop owner Skip in Catherine Hardwicke's Lords of Dogtown, which won the Stony Award for Best Movie in 2005. A hard drinker and smoker who speaks in a stoner mumble, Skip organizes the first skateboard team in Southern California.

The greatest stoner movie of all time is also the 84th best American movie ever, according to he American Film Institute (AFI). Easy Rider stars Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper (he also directed it) as stoners who hit the road on their Harleys and end up on a collision course with America's moral majority.
