'Get Off the Pot' Ex-Cops Need to Get a Life

The tension between New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and the NYPD took a weird turn today when ex-cops paid for an aerial banner that read: DE BLASIO GET OFF THE POT. RESIGN. WE NYPD

A retired police captain told the New York Post, “We prefer to think of this as a turn on a common phrase. We would never suggest that the mayor of New York City is using or has ever used any illicit substance."

On Nov. 19, a new policy decriminalized possession of small amounts of marijuana went into effect. Clearly, the former cops had a double entendre in mind.

Ever since a grand jury failed to indict an officer for the chokehold death of Eric Garner, police have been sparring with the Mayor, who's viewed as being on the side of protesters, De Blasio supported the reduction of stop and frisks, which have been ruled unconstitutional.
