Owen Wilson has never appeared on the cover of High Times, but his character Hansel in Zoolander did. During the film's runway scene, Hansel shows off magazine covers he's been on - one is a mocked-up issue of High Times. With his blonde hair and laid-back style, Wilson looks like the quintessential California stoner.
Born in Dallas in Nov. 18, 1968, Wilson is the older brother of Luke, also an actor. He attended the University of Texas, where he wrote his first script, Bottle Rocket (1996). Wilson has appeared in 36 movies, most notably Zoolander and The Royal Tenenbaums (both in 2001), I Spy (2002), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and Starsky & Hutch (both in 2004), The Wedding Crashers (2005), You, Me and Dupree (2006), The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Marley and Me (2008) and How Do You Know (2009) with Jack Nicholson. He was particularly busy In 2011 with Hall Pass, The Big Year with Jack Black and Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, for which he received a Golden Globe Best Actor nomination. Since then, he's appeared in The Internship, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Are You Here. His next film is Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice.
Wilson has dated Sheryl Crow and Kate Hudson, and overdosed in an apparent suicide attempt in 2007. He has a son (Robert) with Jade Duell and a son (Finn) with his current girlfriend Caroline Lindqvist.
