High Tune: Louis Armstrong's 'Christmas Night in Harlem'

"Everyone will be all lit up like a Christmas tree," Louis Armstrong sings on the holiday classic "Christmas Night in Harlem" written by Mitchell Parish and Raymond Scott. Then he cackles knowingly. For jazz great Armstrong, being lit up meant smoking muggles, his term for marijuana.

Ev'ryone is gonna sit up
Until after three
Ev'ryone will be all lit up
Like a Christmas tree

Come on now ev'ry coal black Joe
You just lead me t' the mistletoe
With a kiss and a hi de ho
Christmas night in Harlem

Hempy holidays and to all a good joint.
