Redman on Cypress Hill: 'They Been Doing It the Right Way'

Redman is a busy man. The New Jersey rapper and CelebStoner has a new weed song, "Jane"; co-founded the National Cannabis Party; and will be speaking and perforimng at the NYC Cannabis Parade & Rally on May 7.

"I'm getting high all night on that Jane"

He recently told me for HoneySuckle magazine, "I got an album coming out this summer called Muddy Waters 2 on Nagila House, Rivington and Empire Records. As far as movies, I never wanted to act. I got some thing I’m directing soon. Basically, I’ve been getting my life together. I’m finally getting to breathe and enjoy me. That’s what it’s really about. Everything else is falling into place. I don’t have to worry about living check to check. I’m making OK money. I’m good. Money is not my issue."

"Even Rick James sang about Jane"

Changing unfair laws is. Following Cypresss Hill's lead in the early '90s, Redman became a cannabis pioneer. "When I first seen Cypress Hill [on the cover of High Times], I was like, Yo I gotta be on that fuckin’ cover. Cypress Hill been in the game before a whole lot of people and they been doing it the right way."

"Let's legalize Jane"
