For the second time in six months, The Woods dispensary in West Hollywood, co-owned by Woody Harrelson, Bill Maher and others, has been targeted by thieves.
The latest attack on the trendy Santa Monica Blvd. store took place around 4:20 am on May 17. Four people wearing hoodies broke the glass front doors and made a quick sweep of the store, stuffing products in bags and exiting in a black SUV.
"Such a beautiful place, to see it destroyed is just disheartening," Catalyst CEO Elliot Lewis posted at IG with store footage of the robbery.
The previous rip-off happened on Nov. 4.
The Woods is not just a dispensary; it also functions as a lounge where consumers can smoke, which is fairly rare in the world of legal cannabis.
It opened in 2022 with Harrelson declaring, "I want to make Hollywood citizens a little bit higher,"
He told the New York Times:
“I'm hoping to reach people from every walk of life and anyone who enjoys herb. The Woods is for everyone from older folks to the young ones, business people to hippies, punk to country to rap and rock and roll.”
Unfortunately, also for pot robbers.
