Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. On his HBO show Real Time, Bill Maher recently joked with Snoop Lion (Snoop Dogg's Rasta alter ego). After sniffing his jacket, Maher maintained, "I'm getting high just sitting next to you."
Snoop explained his conversion: "I went to Jamaica, did a reggae album and became engulfed in the Rastafarian culture… I'm doing this reggae thing because now that's where I'm at in my life as far as music and personality wise."
The documentary, Reincarnated, about his Jamaican adventure, Snoop acknowledged, "There's a lot of weed in the movie."
"I say this as a friend and as someone who I think has impecible credentials as a stoner. You smoke too much pot," Maher counseled. "From a health perspective, you smoke too much pot."
"I'm on a quest," Snoop replied. "I'm trying to catch somebody right now. I'm trying to catch the great Willie Nelson."
"You've got a ways to go," Maher teased.
Then to the rest of the show's panel, he asked if they're in favor of taxing and regulating marijuana?
"Yeah, tax and regulate it," California's Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom chimed in. "The War on Drugs is an abject failure."
Watch Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, Fridays at 10 pm EST.
