311's 11th Album Due on 3/11

Tim Mahoney, Chad Sexton, Nick Hexum, P-Nut (Aaron Wills) and S.A. Martinez.

Before 420, there was was 311. Twenty-four years ago, the quintet came together in Omaha, moved to Los Angeles and the rest is stoner-music history. They plan to release their latest album, Stereolithic, on 311 Day in New Orleans.

No longer associated with a major label, 311 are going back to their indie roots. The album, their 11th, will be distributed by INGrooves.

"The label system is corrupt," says frontman Nick Hexum. "They're so incompetent with their ability to bring any value to the table. It's just a rip-off."

311's last album, 2011's Universal Pulse, was on ATO. Prior to that the group's albums were released by Capricorn, Zomba and Jive.
