Going Further: Merry Pranksters' Magic Bus Plans Cross-Country Trek

This replica of the Further bus plans to go cross-country to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the original trip.

The latest Merry Pranksters' bus, Further rolled into Bend, Oregon on June 17. The bus' original cross-country tour 50 years ago, says Zane Kesey, son of Prankster's founder Ken, "was the beginning of the '60s."

Zane Kesey, son of Ken Kesey, who led the original bus trip, is the man behind the new bus’ journey set for July.

In July, the bus will hit the road, with the goal of traveling 13,000 miles and stopping at seven music festivals along the way. It took a Kickstarter campaign to fund the adventures of these latter-day Pranksters.
