Whole Lotta Plant: Led Zep Vet Gives Colbert a Joint

Robert Plant offers Stephen Colbert a joint. "it’s one of the accessories of being not quite a knight," he said.

Out of the blue last night on The Colbert Report, Robert Plant went green, pulling a joint out of his pocket and handing it to the startled late-night host (see clip below).

Plant: "I brought you a little present from our stock room."

Colbert accepts the joint and quips: "Let’s find out what this is later. Shall we?"

Colbert: "Let's find out what this is later. Shall we?"

Plant: 'I think it's one of the accessories of being not quite a knight of the British empire, but on the way.'

Colbert: "And for the purposes of my lawyer and my network, this is a cigarette."

It's not the first time the Led Zeppelin legend has shown his support for marijuana. In 1967, he and members of his first group, Band of Joy, joined pot protestors for a number of photos.

Plant has a new solo album out, Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar.
