Out of the blue last night on The Colbert Report, Robert Plant went green, pulling a joint out of his pocket and handing it to the startled late-night host (see clip below).
Plant: "I brought you a little present from our stock room."
Colbert: "Let's find out what this is later. Shall we?"
Plant: 'I think it's one of the accessories of being not quite a knight of the British empire, but on the way.'
Colbert: "And for the purposes of my lawyer and my network, this is a cigarette."
It's not the first time the Led Zeppelin legend has shown his support for marijuana. In 1967, he and members of his first group, Band of Joy, joined pot protestors for a number of photos.
Plant has a new solo album out, Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar.
