During a "StarTalk" episode on Facebook Live, renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson favored legalizing marijuana. Here's how the exchange with co-host Chuck Nice went:
Nice (asking a question submitted by MassRoots' Tom Angell): Should marijuana be legalized?
Tyson: I think if you really analyze it relative to other things that are illegal, there's no reason for it ever to have been illegal, in the system of laws.
Nice: That is extremely rational, which I would expect from you, and you're absolutely right.
Tyson: Alcohol is legal and it can mess you up way more than smoking a few jays.
Nice: I can tell you've never smoked weed in you life, because you were just like, "Smoking a few jays." It was like an ABC after school special: "Are you smoking a few jays now?"
Tyson: The last time I was, like, in a cloud of it, that's how people spoke.
Nice: Right on.
