Roseanne Barr: The Harder They Fall

The disgraced comedian is the latest casualty in Hollywood.

One by one, disgraced entertainment executives and actors are losing their gigs. The latest, Roseanne Barr, had her top-rated TV show canceled by ABC after a series of mean tweets on May 28-29.

Here's the one that led to the comic actress' dismissal by the network:

"Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj."

She was referring to Valerie Jarrett, who worked in the Obama White House. After several people questioned it, Barr apologized:

"I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste."

Burt the damage was already done. Comic actrees Wanda Sykes, who consults on Roseanne, tweeted:

"I will not be returning to @RoseanneOnABC"

Also on May 28, Barr tweeted:

"Chelsea Soros Clinton"

Clinton replied:

"Good morning Roseanne - my given middle name is Victoria. I imagine George Soros's nephews are lovely people. I'm just not married to one"

Barr replied:

"Sorry to have tweeted incorrect info about you! Please forgive me! By the way, George Soros is a nazi who turned in his fellow Jews 2 be murdered in German concentration camps & stole their wealth-were you aware of that? But, we all make mistakes, right Chelsea?"

Barr rose to fame as a gum-cracking standup in the '80s. She starred in Roseanne from 1989-1997. But as the years passed, Barr became known for her exteme opinions and conspiracy theories. When she ran for president as an independent in 2012, Barr supported marijuana legalization. But her true colors came out in the 2016 presidential campaign when she backed Donald Trump. The reboot of Roseanne in April came with controversy as Barr, playing herself, defended the president's conservartive agenda.

But the crass comic put her foot in her mouth again, and has suffered the price by losing her show and the public's admiration.
