Canada's Miss Universe Contestant Dons Marijuana Outfit

There was a big winner at the Miss Universe contest on December 7 and she wasn't even crowned the champion. Alyssa Boston stunned the audience during the costume competition when she walked out in a green outfit with pot leaves on it.

"This sparkly green costume represents the legalization of cannabis for medical purposes," the announcer explained. "This contestant wants to end the stigma that's been around since 1920. If you've got the need, you can grab legal weed with Canada."

"I am medical marijuana 'cause Canada was the second country that legalized it," Boston commented on Instagram. Canada legalized all use of marijuana in 2018.

Boston hails from Tecumseh, Ontario. According to the Miss Universe Canada website, her "greatest passion is pageantry." The 24 year-old was named Miss Supranational Cannada 2018. Outside of pageantry, she works closely with the Canandian Mental Health Associaton on their #TalkAboutME campaign.
