Gwyneth Paltrow, Rosario Dawson and Other Celebs Align with Cann Soda Brand

Actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Rosario Dawson are promoting CANN soda beverages.

Cannabis beverages are hot... or cool when chilled and mixed with ice.

One Califiornia brand Cann is particularly popular with celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, who in 2020 said she was an investor in the Los Angeles-based pot soda brand.

Other celebs lining up to support Cann include former NBA player Baron Davis; actresses Ruby Rose and Rebel Wilson; singers Darren Criss and Tove Lo; actress/singer Bre-Z; and YouTube influenceer Casey Neistat.

“There’s a whole sober-curious movement that’s going on and the cannabis-curious movement that’s going on, this is kind of at the intersection of those things in a way,” notes Paltrow, who says marijuana is the "hero ingredient of the future."

Update: Actress Roasario Dawson recently joined the Cann board, stating:

“My joining this board is historic, given less than 3.5% of corporate board seats in general are held by women of color."

Dawson became an advocate when her father cultivated cannabis to combat cancer. "He was growing weed off the fire escape,” she says. “He was blatant about his use.”

The New York born actress, who's appeared in Kids, Clerks II, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot and The Mandalorian since 1995, is currently dating Sen Cory Booker.

Paltrow on Pot

Paltrow's lifestyle brand Goop stocks a number of hemp and CBD products. She's said about cannabis:

"What’s really interesting to see, with all the legalization of marijuana happening, is how there’s evidence that it can be helpful in a medicinal sense for people. That it can really be an alternative pain management system, and, in some cases, helpful for depression...  It’s incredible to see people who can’t sleep, or people who have chronic pain, report really positive results, and it’s a natural substance."

The Oscar winner for Shakespeare in Love added about smoking pot:

"Oh, I’ve tried it, and yes, I inhaled!"

Cann beverages combine CBD (4 mg) and THC (2 mg) in four flavors: Lemon Lavender, Grapefruit Rosemary, Blood Orange Cardamom and Pineapple Jalapeno.

Statements from Cann's Other Celebrity Investors

Rebel Wilson: "Cann is perfect when you're having a dinner party or a few friends over and you want to serve an adult drink that's also healthy and has natural ingredients."

Ruby Rose: "When making an investment decision, you have to invest in two things - the product and the people. The Cann product is excellent - it's delicious with all natural ingredients, its beautiful branding and packaging and its uniqueness as a micro-dose beverage make it a winner. Add to that is the fact that this company is queer-founded and diverse. They're building a team currently made up of 50%+ women and 33%+ people of color. So for me, it was an easy decision to invest."
