Betty White Lives With Cannabis Strain Named for Her

Betty White and the indica hybrid strain named for her

If you live as long as Betty White did, it's a good chance you'll have a cannabis strain named after you.

Betty White passed away at 99 years of age on Dec. 31. She was one of America's best-loved actresses.

At Greenrush, it's described as "an indica hybrid strain that's the offspring of parents of near-celebrity status in the cannabis world; Blueberry and White Widow. Betty is famous in its own right for its even, balanced effects that offer relaxation from stress and anxiety along with a sense of euphoria. This strain is perfect for inspiring an upbeat mood and may lead to conversation and creative pursuits. The flowers have a light sour berry and pine smell and a fresh taste similar to their scent. They generally have a strong blue coloring contrasted by orange hairs."

Betty White: "I don't do dope jokes."

White was not a known weed smoker, though Joan Rivers once said she used to get high with her in the "dark ages." "She was some slut then," Rivers joked in 2012.

In 2010, White said, I don’t do dope jokes“In one episode of Hot in Cleveland, my character goes into a room and thinks she smells marijuana. And that’s it. My character won’t smoke. I wouldn’t do it."

One of TV's Golden Girls, White was three weeks shy of 100 when she died.
