Snoop Loopz Highlights Broadus Foods' New Breakfast Line

Broadus Foods’ Snoop Loopz and co-owner Snoop Dogg

Like Paul Newman, Snoop Dogg is entering the food industry. His first product is Snoop Loopz, which is sure to get a lot of media attention. The other products are less sensational: breakfast items Pancake Mix, Oatmeal, Grits and Maple Syrup, all under the Momma Snoop name. The company uses Snoop's last name: Broadus Foods.

Broadus Foods is a partnershio between Calvin Broadus Jr. and Percy Miller (fellow rapper Master P). "We strive to provide foods that are deliciously made with the highest quality," they state on the company website. "Broadus Foods was founded to continue Mama Snoop’s legacy of her generous love and passion for feeding families in our communities."

A cereal based on the Kellogg's classic, Fruit Loops, is not a particularly nutritious start for the fledgling food company. The syrup is most likely made from corn syrup and not actual maple. However, oatmeal is good for you. White flour pancakes, not so much.

Newman made his name in food with salad dressings, tomato sauces and cookies.

Broadus' founders are "committed to inspire economic empowerment by adding diversity into the grocery stores industry and creating opportunities for minority-owned food products and brands."

Broadus Foods is supporting charities like Doors of Hope

Snoop Dogg was among the first celebs to launch a cannabis brand (Leafs by Snoop). He's promoted a number of products in advertisements, including Corona Light, Tostidos, Wonderful Pistachios and Bic EZ-Reach Lighters.
