On July 14, the Swedish website Dopist reported via Instagram that Canadian rapper Drake had been busted for smoking weed in a Stockholm club:

"According to sources to DOPEST, @champagnepapi has been temporarily taken into custody by police in Stockholm, during his private party at Berns. The world star's bodyguard is rumored to have been arrested at the scene. Witnesses at the scene believe that it is a case of drug offenses, in the form of illegal cannabis possession. Drake and his team will later be released‼"

However, Drake and his camp are denying this happened, saying he was in his hotel room in Stockholm when the bust supposedly went down. What the Toronto-based rapper was doing in the Scandinavian country is unclear.

Complex reports Drake posted evidence at Instagram: "One of the photos shows a paper from the Polisen, or the Swedish National Police Board, titled Information for Those Suspected of a Crime and Subsequently Detained. The document lists off a person’s rights, along with next steps, starting with an interrogation."

Sweden is known for being anti-marijuana. Like in the U.S, cannabis is a Schedule I drug in Sweden. Medical marijuana is only available in the form of the prescription drug Sativex.

After an incident near Stockholm in 2015 during which Snoop Dogg was charged with DWI, the rapper sad he was racially profiled.

In 2013, CelebStoner reported:

"Claiming they smelled marijuana, Swedish police searched Justin Bieber's tour bus while he was on stage at Stockholm's Globe Arena Wednesday night. They found a small amount of weed and a stun gun. But since the bus was empty at the time of the search, no one was arrested."

So, don't be surprised if Drake actually was detained by Stockholm police on June 14 and for some reason he and his team are covering it up.

Last year, CelebStoner reported:

"Drake is teaming up with his producer Noah Shebib (a.k.a. 40) and two others on Bullrider, a cannabis cultivator known for such strains as Afghani Bullrider, Peach Crescendo and Wedding Cake. Drake said at the time: 'I've always viewed 40 as the expert when it comes to cannabis so I'm very excited to invest, partner and contribute to setting a new standard for a premium cannabis experience."
