Esquimalt officials want to ban the ’Bong Mascot’

A town on Vancouver Island wants to ban the local so-called Bong Mascot used to promote the Bong Warehouse.

Esquimalt officials think the mascot is a bad influence on children and doesn't meet the town's "healthy living" standards. Bong Warehouse owner Ryan Place says fast-food chain mascots don't meet Esquimalt's standards either, but they're allowed to prowl the streets. "It's a waste of taxpayer money," he adds.
