Colorado Marijuana Tax Report: April 2014

Recreational marijuana sales in Colorado rose 8% in April to $22 million. A total of $3.7 million in taxes and license fees were collected, an increase of 15% over March.

Store sales have risen from $14 million in January to $15.7 million in February to $19 million in March.

Since January, tax revenues on rec-pot total $11.3 million.

Combined with medical marijuana taxes and fees, the April tax take was $5.2 million, an increase of 6% over March. Medical marijuana taxes and fees declined 14% on $31 million in retail sales during the same period. The overall 2014 tax total, combining rec and medical taxes, so far is $17.8 million.
