Several 'Doobie Capitol Smokers' Busted for Participating in Riot

Three unidentified rioters who smoked pot in the Capitol on January 6. Second to the right is Eduardo Gonzalez’s mug shot.

Stoners were part of the mob that stormed and ransacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6. Several arrests have been made of people who entered the Capitol and lit up joints. Numerous videos of people jubilantly smoking in the Rotunda have surfaced on YouTube and social media.

“Smoke out the Capitol, baby,” Farmingdale, New York resident Greg Rubenacker declared on a SnapChat video that showed him hitting both a joint and a blue vape device. He was arrested on February 9 by the FBI and charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful permission; engaging in disorderly conduct with intent to impede or disrupt government business or official functions; uttering loud, threatening or abusive language in any of the Capitol buildings with the intent to impede, disrupt, or disturb a session of Congress or either House of Congress; and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in any of the Capitol buildings.

Dubbed the "Doobie Smoker," Eduardo Nicolas Alvear Gonzalez, from Ventura, California, was nabbed on February 12 in Virginia Beach by the FBI. He's charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful permission and violent entry and disorderly conduct on the Capitol grounds.

“It’s time to smoke weed in here," Gonzalez allegedly shouted while inside the building where he smoked pot and gave away joints.

In the video below, another smoker is asked what strain he's puffing. "Pinkberry," he replies.

In the next video, the same guy is asked why he's smoking in the Capitol and answers, "Freedom."

In the next video, the man wearing the Trump hat says, "People are smoking weed in here." Someone passes him a joint and he inhales. "We made history. This is our house."

The next video shows a quick hit.

In the next video, captured by CNN, a man explains after entering the Capitol, "We went in there. Then I walked in and there was just a whole bunch of people lighting up in some Oregon room. They were smoking a bunch of weed in there." The rest of the video shows photos of the damage and mess left behind by the rioters.

Rubenacker and Gonzalez are among the 200 people arrested for their activities in Washington, D.C. on the day the 2020 Presidential election was being certified by Congress. The angy mob broke into the Capitol, disrupted the count, defaced the building and terrorized the lawmakers who hid for hours, fearing for their lives. Former Presdient Trump was impeached a second time by the House for his actions that led to the insurrection.
