850-Pound Pot Brownie Denied Guinness World Record

It's National Brownie Day. Alice B. Toklas would be proud. She famously included a fudge brownie recipe in her 1954 cookbook.

Pot brownies have come a long way. To celebrate the chocolate pastry holiday, MariMed, an MSO based in Massachusetts, and their new brand, Bubby's Baked, whipped up what they believe is the largest brownie ever. At 850 pounds, it dwarfs the 234-pound current record holder created in 2013 by Something Sweet Bake Shop in Daphne, AL, which beat the previous record by 14 pounds.

“For many of us, homemade brownies were our first taste of cannabis-infused edibles."

However, MariMed's massive brownie does not qualify for the Guinness World Record because the ingredients include cannabis, says Conscious Comms CEO Leland Radovanovic. It's three feet long by 15 inches high and contains 20,000 milligrams of THC, and was made with 1,300 eggs, 250 pounds of sugar, 212 pounds of butter, 122 pounds of cocoa powder and 81 pounds of flour. Despite the snub, MariMed is calling it "the world's largest cannabis brownie."

“For many of us, homemade brownies were our first taste of cannabis-infused edibles," notes MariMed Chief Product Officer Ryan Crandall said. "Bubby’s recreates and elevates that nostalgic experience, infusing full-spectrum, craft-quality cannabis into timeless recipes for a reliable high reminiscent of simpler times."
