The nine days from Aug. 1-9 have been officially dubbed "The Days Between," after the Grateful Dead song. It refers to Jerry Garcia's birthday (Aug. 1, 1942) and the day he died (Aug. 9, 1995). This year, many special events are planned to commemorate Garcia's 75th birthday.
