A storm forced the evacuation of the Hudson Project music festival in Saugerties, New York on its final day. Over the weekend, 42 drugs arrests were made in and around Winston Farm, the site of Woodstock '94.
New York Times writer Jon Pareles reports that the three-day first-time event, done in cooperation with Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang, was "underpopulated." It rained Saturday night during sets by Kendrick Lamar and Big Gigantic, creating a muddy scene, reminiscent of 20 years ago. Mid-afternoon Sunday fans were told that more rain was coming and they should start leaving the campground. The festival was officially canceled at 7:30, prior to Basnectar's closing set.
As of Monday, cars were still stuck on the muddy site. "We are working tirelessly to get all the vehicles out," the fest tweeted, "but please be patient... The ground has deteriorated and we must work slowly to get everyone out safely.
