Bob Marley 75: Ziggy Celebrates Dad with Special Virtual Set

Born in 1945, Bob Marley would've turned 75 in 2020. Unfortunately, the reggae legend passed away from cancer in 1981.

Marley's family is paying tribute to him this year. They'd planned a number of live events, but the Covid pandemic prevented that. However, it hasn't stopped Ziggy Marley from playing his dad's music in a socially-distanced setting.

The hour-long, 11-song set (watch above) features Ziggy's band on a soundstage equipped with plexiglass dividers. Several of the musicians don masks.

Marley's first son Ziggy is inspired, channeling his famous father from beginning to end. "Exodus" is particularly timely with its calls for justice and equity.
