After a complete wipeout in 2020 due to Covid-19, cannabis-industry conferences and festivals are being planned for 2021. Some are virtual while others are in-person.
Here's a list of scheduled events, cancellations and question marks.
Pennsylvania Cannabis Festival - Kutztown 4/17-18
Held at Renninger's Farmers Market in Kutztown, this outdoor event originally started in Scranton in 2015. The 2020 fest was postponed. It's been rescheduled to April 17-18 (in-person).
The Great American Sesh In - San Francisco/hybrid 4/20
This 4/20 benefit for Last Prisoner Project (LPP) will take place at The Midway in San Francisco and also online. The event will feature DJ sets by Dr. Shortcut and Rob Garza.
Even Higher Together - online 4/20
Weedmaps is back with their annual 4/20 livestream. This year the host is none other than Snoop Dogg. The lineup includes Wiz Khalifa, Berner, Talib Kweli, A$AP Rocky, Eric Rachmany, Jaleel White, Corvain Cooper and more. This is also a benefit for LPP.

Hempdemic - Atlanta 4/23-24
This first-time event will take place at the Hapeville Maker Space in Atlanta on April 23-24 (in-person),
National Cannabis Unity Conference - online 4/29-30
SSDP Policy Conference - online 4/29-5/2
The student activist organization canceled its 2020 Sensible Conference and Lobby Day and scheduled an online event instead. The 2021 online event is slated for April 29-May 2.
NYC Cannabis Parade & Rally - New York/hybrid 5/1-2
Since 1973, New York marijuana activists have gathered in a park on the first Saturday in May. What was originally called the Smoke-In is now known as the NYC Cannabis Parade & Rally. The 2020 event was canceled. The 2021 event on May 1 has been approved by NYPD and the New York Parks Department. The parade will start at 11 am. From 12-2 pm, a small rally/press conference will take place in Union Square Park. It's limited to 200 attendees. An online Zoom event will follow on May 2.
Delic: A Psychedelic Wellness Summit - Los Angeles 5/1-2
This first-time Los Angeles event was postponed in 2020. It's been rescheduled to May 1-2 (in-person).
International Cannabis Business Conference - Austin, 5/6; Berlin, 7/7-8; Zurich, 8/31
This popular Berlin event, also known as ICBC, was postponed in 2020. It's been rescheduled to July 7-9 (in-person).
The first-time ICBC Austin is scheduled for May 6-7 (in-person).
Budtender Awards - Las Vegas 5/21-23, 9/30-10/2
After skipping 2020, this dispensary event is returning to Las Vegas on May 21-23 and September 30-October 2 (both are in-person).
Natural Products Expo West - online 5/24-27
Expecting more than 80,000 attendees and 3,600 exhibitors, the 2020 Natural Products Expo West was canceled. Many CBD and hemp companies exhibit at this event. Natural Product Expo West is scheduled for May 24-27 (online).
NORML Legal Seminar - Aspen 6/3-5
Every year, NORML's attorneys meet in Aspen, Colorado to swap drug-war stories and hang out at Hunter Thompson's Owl Ranch. The 2020 event at the Gant Hotel was postponed. It's been rescheduled to June 3-5 (in-person).
Lift & Co. Expo - Toronto 7/16-18
This Canadian event in Toronto is scheduled for July 16-18.
CHAMPS Trade Show - Las Vegas 7/27-29
From Las Vegas to Atlantic City, CHAMPS is one of the top cannabis B2Bs. Their numerous 2020 shows were canceled. CHAMPS returned to Orlando on March 9-11 for an in-person show. They're next show is at the Las Vegas Convention Center from July 27-29.
Cannabis Conference - Las Vegas 8/24-25
This event at Paris Las Vegas Resort & Casino was canceled in 2020. It's been rescheduled to August 24-26 (in-person).
The Southern Hemp Expo - Raleigh, NC 9/2-4
The same people who produce the NoCo Hemp Expo in Denver also have a Southern in-person event. This year it will take place at the Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina.
Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival - Manchester, TN 9/3-5
Canceled in 2020, Bonnaroo returns to its site in Manchester, Tennessee on September 3-5 (in-person). The line-up include Foo Fighters and Tame Impala.
NECANN - New Jersey 10/2-3; Boston 10/10-12; Maine 10/16-17; Chicago 12/4-5
What started in Boston has expanded to NECANN events all over the country.It's been rescheduled to September 10-12 (in-person).

The State of Cannabis - Los Angeles/hybrid, 9/17-19
This California event is returning in hybrid fashion on September 17-19. Cannabis will be the focus on the opening day and psychedelics on the second. Attendees take a field trip to West Hollywood on the final day.
Hall of Flowers - Santa Rosa 9/22-23; Palm Springs, 12/8-9
After taking place in San Francisco and Santa Rosa, this California event expanded to Palm Springs for 2020, but that event was canceled. The event in Santa Rosa is scheduled for September 22-23. The Palm Springs event has been rescheduled to December 8-9 (both are in-person).
Women in Cannabis Expo - Reno 9/27-29
After canceling in 2020, this canna-women event is rescheduled for Reno, Nevada on September 27-29.
Meadowlands - online 10/1-4
This California-based event is going digital on October 1-4.
MJBizCon - Las Vegas 10/20-22
The cannabis industry's biggest convention draws 30,000 attendees and more than a thousand exhibitors. Their 2020 event was postponed and moved to a virtual format. MJBizCon is returning to the Las Vegas Convention Center on October 20-22 (in-person).
Spannabis - Barcelona 10/8-10
Europe's largest marijuana event attracts 35,000 attendees. It's a seed buyer's paradise. Smokers have congregated in Barcelona each March for Spannabis since 2002. The 2020 event was canceled. It's been rescheduled to October 8-10 (in-person).
New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival - 10/8-17
America's greatest music festival was canceled in 2020. It's been rescheduled to October 8-17 (in-person).
Cannabis World Congress & Business Expo - New York 11/4-6
The CWCBE's flagship event at New York's Javits Convention Center was postponed in 2020. It's been rescheduled to November 4-6 (in-person). CWC's other events in Boston and Los Angeles have yet to be rescheduled.
Cannabis Business Summit & Expo - San Francisco 12/15-17
NCIA's San Francisco event was postponed in 2020. It's been rescheduled to December 15-17 (in-person). Their Midwest Cannabis Business Conference in Detroit is scheduled for September 22-23 (in-person). Their Northeast Cannabis Business Conference in Baltimore is scheduled for December 7-8 (in-person).
Canceled 2021 Events
Since being founded in 2014 by Atlanta's Sweetwater Brewing Company, which features a number of hemp beers, this has become the largest commerical 4/20 event in the country. The 2020 fest was canceled. There will not be a Sweetwater 420 Fest in 2021.
The original tradition of 420 on 4/20 is upheld in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, where a horde of stoners flock and light up together every April 20. The 2020 event was canceled. There will not be a 420 Hippie Hill gathering in 2021.
Denver is home base for 420 events. The FlyHi 420 Music Festival (formerly Mile High 420 Festival) in Civic Center Park was canceled in 2020. There will not be a FlyHi 420 Music Fest in 2021.
This popular California music festival, founded in 1999, takes place over consecutive weekends in April. The 2020 event was postponed, rescheduled and then canceled again. There will not be a Coachella Festival in 2021.
Completed 2021 Events
SXSW - online 3/16-20
In 2019, 280,000 people attended South by Southwest (SXSW), the annual music, film and interaactive industry event that takes over Austin every March. SXSW started as a music conference/festival in 1986. Over the last few years, many panel discussions have focused on cannabis. The 2020 event was canceled. SXSW Online '21 took plac on March 16-20.
NOCO Hemp Expo - Denver 3/25-27
Concerend about the health and safety of 400 vendors and 20,000 potential attendees, the 2020 event was postponed twice and rescheduled to March 25-27 at the National Western Complex in Denver (in-person).
Georgia World Cannabis Conference - Atlanta 3/27
This first-time event took pplace on March 27 at Loudermilk Conference Center in Atlanta. (in-person)
Hash Bash - Ann Arbor/hybrid 4/3
Since 1971, marijuana advocates have protested on the Diag at the University of Michigan on the first Saturday in April. The rally as well the Monroe Street Fair that follows Hash Bash was canceled and replaced by an online event in 2020. The 2021 in-person event took place April 3 on the Diag.
In addition, an online Hash Bash happened later on Twitch and featured Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel, Rep. Debbie Dingell, State Sen. Jeff Irwin, former Detroit Red Wing Darren McCarty, former Detroit Lion Calvin Johnson, U.S. and activist John Sinclair.
One year since 13-year-old Charlotte Figi passed away, the cannabis community will come together to remember the brave girl featured by CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta as the face of CBD. Presented by Realm of Caring, the Rock the Roc line-up includes Jason Mraz, Michael Franti, Avett Brothers, Graham Nash, Sarah Jarosz and more.
Cannabis Real Estate Summit - online 4/8
The same folks who brought you the Cannabis Media Summit have turned their attention to real estate. This online event takes place on April 8.
Emerald Cup Awards - online 4/11
The popular Northern California judging contest was canceled in 2020. The online event on April 11 featured appearances by Top CelebStoners B-Real, Ziggy Marley and Melissa Etheridge, plus Michael Franti, Abdullah Saeed and many more. Check out the winners here.
The fifth-annual event at RFK Festival Grounds in Washington, DC was canceled in 2020. A rescheduled date will be announced on June 1.
One of the largest 4/20 events featured Cypress Hill (pictured above) in 2019. The 2020 event was canceled. A 4/20/21 event has not been announced.
Ultra Music Festival - Miami 3/25-27
In 2019, 190,000 people attended this DJ/EDM event in Miami's Bayfront Park. It dates back to 1999. The 2020 event was canceled. It's been rescheduled to March 25-27, 2022.
Austin Reggae Festival - 4/22-24
This ganja-friendly event was canceled in 2020. It's been rescheduled to April 22-24, 2022.
