Jerry Garcia at 80: Celebrating 'The Days Between'

Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia was born on August 1, 1942 in San Francisco and died on August 9, 1995 at Serenity Knolls in Lagunitas, California. The nine-day period between Garcia's birth and death is now known, in Deadhead circles, as The Days Between, which is the name of a Dead song written by Garcia and Robert Hunter; it appears on the So Many Roads compilation (listen below).

This year wouild have been Garcia's 80th. Many events have been scheduled to celebrate that as well as The Days Between.
