One of the Reefer Era jazz classics, Mitchell performed it as Mexican-themed dance number featuring topless chorus girls in the film Murder at the Vanities. Julia Lee updated the song and renamed it "Lotus Blossom." Years later, in 1976, Bette Midler camped it up under the title "Marahuana" on Songs for a New Depression
