Distinctions: Known principally for one song, the feminist anthem, Grammy-winning "I Am Woman" (No. 1, 1972, watch below), which she co-wrote, the Australian-born singer also had hits with "Delta Dawn" (No. 1, 1973, listen below), "Angie Baby" (No. 1, 1974), "Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress)" (No. 3, 1973), "Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady" (No. 8, 1975), "You and Me Against the World" (No. 9, 1974), "Peaceful" (No. 12, 1973), "I Don't Know How to Love Him" (No. 13, 1971), "Keep on Singing" (No. 15, 1974), "You're My World" (No. 18, 1977), "Somewhere in the Night" (No. 19, 1975) and "Emotion" (No. 22, 1975); she released 17 albums from 1972-2002 and also appeared in films and on Broadway.
