Rock and Pop Star Deaths in 2020

Betty Wright - May 10; Miami-born singer had hits with "Clean Up Woman" (No. 6, 1971), "Girls Can't Do What the Guys Do" (No. 33, 1968), "Baby Sitter" (No. 46, 1972), "Secretary" (No. 62, 1974), "It's Hard to Stop (Doing Something When It's Good to You)" (No. 72, 1973) and "Where Is The Love" (No. 96, 1975); she also sang lead on Peter Brown's disco hit, "Dance with Me" (No. 8, 1978); suffered from cancer; was 66.

Edna Wright - Sept. 12; younger sister of Darlene Love and lead singer of Los Angeles-based girl group Honey Cone who had a No. 1 hit with "Want Ads" in 1970 (watch below); suffered a heart attack; was 78.



Brent Young - Sept. 27; original bassist with Florida metal band Trivium; cause and age undisclosed.
