Willie Nelson Wins Two 2023 Grammy Awards, His 11th and 12th Ever

Willie Nelson has now won 11 Grammy Awards.


Willie Nelson was among the winners at 65th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 5. Nelson, who's 89, was nominated in three categories: Best County Album for A Beautiful TimeBest Country Solo Performance for "Live Forever" (he won both) and Best Country Solo Performance for "Live Forever." The Willie Nelson Family was also nominated for Best Roots Gospel Album, which lost.

It's Nelson's 54th, 55th and 56th nominations. He's now won a total of 12 Grammy Awards since his first nom in 1975. Check out our list of Nelson's Grammy noms and wins here.

Best Reggae Album: The Kalling, Kabaka Pyramid; Gifted, Koffee; Scorcha, Sean Paul; Third Time's a CharmProtoje; and Come Fly Wid Mi, Shaggy. Kabaka Pyramid won.

Best Rock Album: Dropout Boogie, Best Rock Performance: "Wild Child"; the Black Keys. They lost both.

Best Traditional Blues Album: Heavy Load Blues, Gov't Mule. They lost.

Best Traditonal Pop Vocal Album: HigherMichael Bublé. He won.

Best Contemporary Instrumental Album: Empire Central, Snarky Puppy. They won.

Best Americana Performance: "There You Go Again," Asleep at the Wheel ft. Lyle Lovett. They lost.

Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package: In and Out of the Garden: Madison Square Garden '81 '82 '83, the Grateful Dead. This title won.

Best Comedy Album: The Closer, Dave Chappelle. He won.
