Jets' Goodson Suspended Four Games for Pot

Mike Woodson
Jets RB Mike Woodson is the 35th NFL player to be busted for marijuana or other drugs since 2008.

Newly acquired New York Jets running back Mike Goodson was arrested in Denville, New Jersey at 3:20 am on May 17 and charged with marijuana, paraphernalia, gun and bullet possession.

Goodson was riding with Garant Evans when a tow truck noticed Evans' GMC Yukon had stopped in the left lane on I-80. The tow driver called 911.

Police also arrested Evans and charged him with possession of a loaded firearm and suspicion of DUI.

Later in the day, Goodson was released from Morris Country Jail on $50,000 bail.

Update: On Aug. 26, Goodson was suspended for the first four games of the regular season by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He mostly likely failed a drug test. In June, his case was sent to a grand jury.

The former Carolina Panther and Oakland Raider signed a three-year, $7 million contract with the Jets in March. He was drafted in the fourth round out of Texas A&M in 2009. In 2010, Goodson ran for over 1,500 yards.
