Pot Charge Dropped Against Tar Heel Hoopster

UNC basketball's leading scorer P.J. Hairston was arrested for marijuana possession on June 3.

Hairston's car was pulled over at 10:20 pm at the cross-section of Holloway and Guthrie in Durham for a license check. Police smelled pot, and subsequently charged the junior with marijuana possession and driving without a license.

Update: Charges against Hairston were dismissed on July 22 after he competed a state drug assessment program and produced his license.

Last season, the 6-5 Hairston topped the Tar Heels with a 14.6 average.
