One Hitters Beat Down White House

In the world of Congressional softball, the One Hitters are among the top teams. On June 19, the stoner squad defeated the Softball Team of the United States (a.k.a the White House), 5-2.

"It was the closest game of our season," co-captain and short fielder Stacia Cosner tells CelebStoner. Cosner is associate director of SSDP.

The One Hitters are No. 1 in the Congressional Softball league.

Pitcher Mike Liszewski, policy director for ASA, notched the comeback victory. STOTUS led 2-0 before the One Hitters posted five runs.

Other members of the team include MPP's deputy director of government relations Dan Riffle, and co-captain and SSDP alumnus Tyler Smith. They all wear the number 420 on the back of their jerseys.

Update: The One Hitters are currently ranked No. 5 with an 13-3 record. The have a playoff game on Aug. 24.

Regualr season games take place on the National Mall near 20th St. NW and Constitution Ave. NW on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm.

The One Hitters are sponsored by Colorado medibles maker Mountain Medicine and Wellspring Collective's Ingrid strain. The hemp energy drink, Chillo, also supports the team with cans and shirts.
