Possession of any amount is punishable by maximums of six months in jail and $1,000 fine. Kansas is one of rhe only states in the country without decrim, medical or legalization.  CBD products with zero THC are legal.

Mo' Problems

• On March 30, wide receiver Rashee Rice and anotther driver caused an accident on a Dallas highway when they cross lanes, sped up and hit another car. The drivers of the racing vehicles (Rice in a Lamborghini and the second driver Theodore Knox in a Corvette) left the scene. Four days later, Rice apologized via Instagram: "I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.” He turned himself in to DPD on April 11.

Rice and Knox were each charged with eight criminal counts including aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury and collision involving injury. Four injuries were sustained during the crash.

A second-round draft pick out of SMU in 2023, Rice had a solid rookie season with 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. He will likely face a suspension and possible jail time.

• On May 11, kicker Harrison Butker gave a controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. His conservative comments included:

“How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career? Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”

Butker hailed his wife Isabelle who'd "be the first to say her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.” He also targeted LGBTQI.

The NFL distanced itself from Butker, with Senior Vice President Jonathan Beane stating:

"His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”

Butker had a fabulous Super Bowl season, connecting on 33 of 35 field goals. His 57-yard Super Bowl FG set a new record for distance.
