Marking the year in Jimi Hendrix life when he left New York for London, where he became a star revered by the Beatles, All Is By My Side features Andre Benjamin as the shy guitarist who gets caught up in a difficult relationship. While his assault of Kathy Etchingham (played by Hayley Atwell) has been challenged as false and the lack of any Hendrix music in the film is problematic, director John Ridley does a good job portraying the period.
