Barry Jenkins' Oscar-nominated film follows a young African-American boy as he grows up in three stages. Chiron, whose mother Paula (Naomie Harris) is a crack addict, endures intense bullying and develops an affection for another boy, who he smokes a blunt and gets busy with one night on a Florida beach. It's received eight Oscar nominations, for Best Picture, Director, Supporting Actor (Mahershala Ali, who plays Juan) and Supporting Actor (Harris), and already won for Best Drama at this year's Golden Globes.
