DRUGGY DRAMA

Honey Boy

Shia LaBeouf reveals his unusual upbringing in Alma Har’el’s directorial debut. LaBeouf wrote the script and plays his disturbed father Jeffrey, a rodeo clown, and Lucas Hedges and Noah Jupe portray Shia in different phases of his life. Jeff drinks, does some drugs and has a violent temper, hence the separation with his wife Shayna, who we never meet. It’s certainly one of LaBeouf’s better performances. Prime

DRUGGY DRAMA

Hustlers

Six pissed-off strippers take revenge on Wall Street hot shots in Lorene Scafaria’s ludicrous flick. Jennifer Lopez (as Ramona) heads the squad that’s obsessed with the material wealth that can be gained from primarily shaking your booty (even Lizzo does in a cameo). J-Lo proudly shows off her pole technique to newbie Destiny (Constance Wu), who she takes under her wing. As their group grows, Ramona conceives her daring scheme – unwittingly dose high rollers with a mix of Ecstasy and ketamine and then steal their credit cards and run up ridiculous department store charges. In one scene Ramona gives Destiny a chinchilla coat and everyone coos, showing how tone-death the film really is. Eventually, and thankfully, the police are alerted and they’re all brought to justice. Hustlers is pretty tame, with some naked breasts, writhing lap dances (Cardi B provides one and even has a few funny lines) and a few bumps of cocaine. On Demand, Prime, YouTube
