10. Spinal Tap II: The End Continues

Castle Rock Entertainment

Rob Reiner's final movie catches up with the Spinal Tap boys 41 years after he created a mockumentary about them. Sadly, Reiner and has wife Michelle were allegedly killed in Los Angeles by their son Nick on Dec. 14. Reiner reprises his Marty Di Bergi film director role as he follows the band in rehearsals for a reunion show in New Orleans.

First, he tracks down the trio – David St. Hubbens (Michael McKean), Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) – none of whom have had much success over the years. They hire Didi Crockett (Valerie Franco) to play drums (all of their previous drummers suffered strange deaths).

Paul McCartney and Elton John join them in the studio. In the case of Paul, when he questions the arrangement of a song and plays and sings along to "Cups and Cakes," St. Hubbens gets huffy with the former Beatle.

John suffers a worse fate during the live performance of "Stonehenge" and Didi may not be available for their next gig after Marty tries to save her with the Heimlich maneuver.

During the end credits, Marty asks McCartney, "What is it, you just like to play, is that it?"

"And the drugs," he quips.
