Luka Oleksyshyn's "High Landz" is the antidote to "Murder Mountain," the exploitative 2019 Netflix series about mayhem in California's Emerald Triangle where the best marijuana in the U.S. is traditionally grown. Oleksyshyn, who's Ukrainian, brings a fresh approach to this belabored subject.
Jennifer Lawrence made a splash last year when she smoked pot in the Oscar-nominated "Don't Look Up." She repeats that feat in her latest movie "Causeway," currently streaming on Apple TV+.
"Clerks III" is about as funny as a heart attack. Director Kevin Smith suffered one in 2018 and writes about it in the second "Clerks" sequel.
It's 40 years since "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" was released in theaters on Aug. 13, 1982. We pay special tribute to the film's famous stoner character, Jeff Spicioli, played by Sean Penn.
