Jeff Bridges' Acceptance Speech at 2019 Golden Globes, Man

Jeff Bridges received the Cecil B. deMille Award at the 2019 Golden Globes ceremony on Jan. 6. Honored for a career that began with The Last Picture Show in 1971 (he thanked director Peter Bogdanovich for "starting my whole career") and has continued through 2016's Hell and High Water (he received Oscar nominations for both) and beyond. Of course, Bridges is best known for his portrayal of The Dude in 1998's The Big Lebowski, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, who he called "true masters."

"If I'm lucky, I'll be associated with The Dude for the rest of my life. I feel so honored to be a part of that film. Great movie!"

Bridges also thanked his wife, Sue; brother, Beau; sister, Cindy; parents, Lloyd and Dorothy; agents and reps; stand-in, Lloyd; directors Steve Kloves, Michael Cimino and Scott Cooper; and Buckminster "Bucky" Fuller. Like Tommy Chong, he said "man" about 15 times during his speech.

Bridges recently appeared in Bad Times at the El Royale. Check out all of the Golden Globes winners and nominees here.
