Jimmy Fallon Plugs Canna-Book, 'What's Growing in Grandma's Garden,' Author Takes Offense

Jimmy Fallon included a cannabis book in his latest DO NOT READ segment.

The third book was Susan Soares' children's book, What's Growing in Grandma's Garden.

On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on August 10, the host held up the book and joked:

"It's never too early to teach the kids how grandma loves to get baked."

The illustrated 26-page book, published in 2019, is subtitled, A Book to Help Grownups Have a Conversation with Children About Cannabis.

"It's time to start talking to our children," Soares says. "Children are smarter than we give them credit for. Don't hide your consumption from your children."

Soares noted on Facebook that her book received a rankings boost on Amazon thanks to Fallon, from the millions to less than 5,000. But in an answer video (see below), Soares criticizes Fallon for "making fun" of the book, though she says, "I appreciate the shout out."

Based in Long Beach, CA, Soares also produces online events, including The State of Cannabis and The Green Room, and is executive dirctor of C.A.R.E.
